Taylor Swift Long Straight Light Honey Blonde Hairstyle with Blunt Cut Bangs

Added: 09 Jan 2024
As far as celebrity hairstyles go, the look Taylor Swift debuted at the 2010 American Music Awards is most definitely one of the best.

The country cutie was almost unrecognizable when she hit the red carpet with her mature new look, and for once, in the land of Hollywood, it wasn't because she looked a mess, wore the wrong outfit or sported a shockingly bad hairstyle. In fact her hairstyle was good. Very good.

This is a fantastic sleek 'do which flows over the shoulder to show off the jagged cut ends as well as the jagged layers cut through the front to add texture and shape. Her long blonde hair, usually twisted into her trademark curls, was styled long and straight with a healthy hair shine. And she had added bangs to her look. The kind of full, blunt cut bangs that create a fabulous frame around the face (ones we'd all secretly love to be brave enough to try) and completed the over-all style beautifully!

The look was different, stunning and really showed a great new side to the young star - adding another success to what has already been a very successful year for her.

step 1

Squeeze a small amount of straightening balm into your palms and then rub your hands together before smoothing the product evenly through damp hair.

step 2

A paddle brush is used for detangling the hair and can be used to smooth out straight hair when blow-drying or styling. It is a must have for every household.

step 3

Working in sections starting from the back, place the paddle brush close to the roots and drag it through the strands slowly, taking care not to overheat your hair. Once dry, continue to a new section, completing the back, the sides and then the top section last of all.

step 4

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 5

When blow-drying your bangs forward, clip your hair back leaving only your bangs out. Position your bangs evenly in your brush, taking the hair in a forward direction. Blow-dry from roots to ends, keeping the tension consistent, and evenly distribute heat over the whole section of hair that you are working on. Repeat until the hair is dry. This will stop any frizz that may occur.

step 6

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 7

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
