Added: 17 Feb 2014
Our model shows off her hair's natural texture with a long length straight hairstyle with side swept bangs and dark blonde highlights. This long hairstyle will make you look fabulous if you want to be the center of attention on any formal occasion. The golden blonde highlights are a nice touch to this look and will make those around you stare! This long straight hairstyle with side swept bangs and dark blonde highlights is an absolute must-have for those looking to add a little more volume to the crown. It will suit diamond shape faces best and will look great with a natural skin tone and nude lips to create a glamorous look that will turn heads. The highlighted tresses are blow-waved smooth from root to tip, showing off the combination of medium to long layers cut through the sides and back. The bangs are smoothed to one side to soften the face and complete the overall 'do magnificently. This hairdo will also suit you if you have a round, oval, heart or triangular-shaped face. This hairstyle suits those with young faces that are all about the color-blocking trend. This look is sure to complement blue or brown eyes! You can maintain this hairstyle with regular trimming to prevent split ends after 4 to 6 weeks, and toning treatments to maintain your light golden brunette color and dark blonde highlights if your roots are turning grey. A product is needed for hold and shine.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

step 4

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

step 5

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

step 6

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

step 7

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 8

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
