Textured Platinum Blonde Pixie Haircut

Added: 30 Aug 2017
Our model has a textured Pixie haircut here and she looks great! This jagged cut hairdo is great for ladies like her who have petite facial features and strong cheekbone structure. She has a squared jaw line which benefits from short styles like this one that bring the focus upwards. Her fine hair type works well with this 'do too as the layers add texture and body. It also gives coverage to her high forehead while framing her eyes. If you like a wash-and-go 'do, this graduated Pixie cut is an excellent option.

The sides and back of this Pixie cut are tapered into the head while the top is jagged cut for a textured look and feel. The bangs are swept over to soften her face and completes the over-all hairstyle brilliantly. Regular trims are advised every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain this shape.

Our model has a warm, golden skin tone that has some yellow undertones to it, and dark blue eyes. She is best suited to blonde and brown tones that warm up her skin and bring out her eyes. This platinum blonde shade does just that, plus it gives her hair a chic and stylish finish. No highlights are needed here as this Pixie looks best in one striking tone. Low-lights could be added for a more natural look and added dimension. Product is needed to hold this style in place and lift the roots for extra volume.

step 1

Hold the gel spray no closer than 3 inches from your hair and then evenly mist the gel spray into the roots to create a stronger hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down. Using your gel spray in this fashion will create added hold and a longer lasting style.

step 2

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

step 3

Use your blow-dryer and your fingers to dry the back of your hair by moving your hair around to allow the heat to pass through it.

step 4

Using a blow-dryer on a low heat setting, use the palm of your hand in slow circular movements to dry off the hair and to create a disorganized effect.

step 5

When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.

step 6

To finish the look, apply wax to your fingertips, making sure to smooth the wax over all of your fingers, then simply pinch the wax onto the ends of your hair, applying as much or as little as needed.

step 7

Apply wax to your fingertips then drag through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the right as you go. Pinching the ends will create soft texture.

step 8

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips, then place it at the roots above your ear and drag it through as you pull your hair behind your ear.

step 9

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
