Yellow-Platinum Blonde Pixie Haircut With Texture And Body

Added: 23 Jun 2017
The top of this short sassy Pixie haircut is left longer and jagged cut for a textured look, while the sides and back are tapered into the head. The bangs are swept over to the side to soften the face and completes the over-all hairstyle brilliantly. Regular trims are needed every 4-6 weeks to maintain this shape.

Our model is working a layered Pixie cut here for a great look. This jagged cut Pixie is ideal for anyone who has petite facial features and a strong bone structure. She has a square jaw line which benefits from short styles that bring the focus towards the top of her face. Her fine hair type works well with this 'do too as the layers add texture and body all over, and it frames her eyes nicely while giving her high forehead coverage. For ladies who like a stylish wash-and-go hairstyle, this longer version of a Pixie cut is an excellent option.

Our model has fair, warm skin that has some gold undertones to it, and vibrant hazel eyes. She is best suited to blonde and brown tones that warm up her skin and bring out her eyes. This yellow-platinum blonde shade does just that, plus it gives her hair a chic and stylish finish. No highlights are needed here as this Pixie 'do looks best in one striking tone. For a more natural look, low-lights could be added, and it will add the appearance of thicker locks.

step 1

Hold the gel spray no closer than 3 inches from your hair and then evenly mist the gel spray into the roots to create a stronger hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down. Using your gel spray in this fashion will create added hold and a longer lasting style.

step 2

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

step 3

A small radial brush is used on shorter hair types to add more body or in longer hair types to create curl. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 4

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

step 5

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

step 6

Using a blow-dryer on a low heat setting, use the palm of your hand and fingers in slow circular movements to dry off the hair and to create a disorganized effect.

step 7

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

step 8

Take a section of your hair no wider than the diameter of your brush. Place your brush under and at the roots of your section. Then with your blow-dryer above, drag the brush up through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair following with your blow-dryer and pulling the hair to the left. Repeat until your hair is completely dry.

step 9

Apply gel to your fingertips and then pinch small clumps of hair in an up and forward motion. For a messier look, pinch the clumps in different directions.

step 10

Apply wax to your fingertips then drag through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the left as you go. Pinching the ends will create soft texture.
