Carla Gugino Medium Wavy Dark Brunette Hairstyle with Side Swept Bangs

Added: 12 Jun 2015
Large loose waves are dressed all through the back and sides of these brunette locks to give the over-all look plenty of body and bounce making this a fantastic hairstyle to complement a long face. The bangs are swept across the forehead to soften the face and completes the over-all 'do magnificently.

Carla Gugino looks radiant here in wavy brunette locks. Carla has a square face shape and really benefits from soft, airy styles and an angled fringe. This medium length ‘do checks all the boxes as she has jagged layers throughout that break up any boxiness, and a soft side-swept fringe that creates a nice angle and frame for her eyes. Her wide jawline is minimized by the soft waves throughout and voluminous finish of this ‘do.

The color is another standout feature to Carla’s ‘do. She has an olive skin tone and striking green eyes which are really brought out by her rich chocolate hair color. She has opted for a glossy all-over color rather than a highlighted look which gives her a sophisticated finish. Ladies with a warm or cool skin tone will be able to pull this versatile brunette shade off with ease, and it looks just as good with dark eyes as it does lighter green or blue eyes.

Carla Gugino is an American actress who has appeared in films such as The Spy Kids.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

step 4

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

step 5

When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.

step 6

A large curling iron is used to create large soft curls and can be used to add body.

step 7

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

step 8

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 9

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
