Michelle Collins Medium Straight Brunette Bob Haircut

Added: 17 Oct 2016
Smooth and glossy is the main idea for this hairstyle. These highlighted brunette locks are blow-dried straight to achieve a sexy yet simple look and feel. The roots have added volume all over for a voluminous and sexy finish.

Michelle Collins is rocking her thick locks here in a sleek straight ‘do that compliments her round face shape nicely. The sharp center part breaks up excess roundness in her face and the layers around the ends help to break up any heaviness and add movement. Michelle’s naturally thick tresses look their best in longer ‘dos like the one seen here, and when worn straight, has an ultra healthy and glossy finish. This style is easy to achieve with minimal styling time and can be worn day or night.

Michelle’s color is also looking fabulous here and works well with her medium complexion and dark eyes. Having cool undertones in her skin, she looks best in brown or auburn hair that highlights her eyes and matches her skin tone. Here she has stayed close to her natural color with a rich chestnut brown shade that has a slight red undertone to it. This color gives her tresses a natural-looking finish while making her eyes pop. The sunkissed highlights brighten up her tresses nicely and gives her a healthy glow.

Michelle Collins is an American talk show host who has been a co-host on The View.

step 1

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

step 2

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

step 4

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

step 5

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

step 6

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

step 7

When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.

step 8

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
