Brianna Perry Medium Straight Layered Black Bob Haircut with Side Swept Bangs and Light Blonde Highlights

Added: 19 Jul 2012
Brianna Perry was looking chic and sexy when she was spotted on the red carpet with this great highlight look. Sporting a sleek graduated bob, Brianna looked radiant in a silver dress with smokey eye makeup to match. Her black bob was given a modern twist with peek-a-boo blonde and copper highlights that looked fab and brightened up her warm skin tone. This is a fresh, funky look if you have black hair and need a style pick-me-up. This multi-colored bob is jagged cut around the length which angles down towards the jaw-line for shape and the long bangs that are swept to the side to compliment the face. This gives the over-all style a wispy look and feel best suites to frame a round face. Regular trims is needed to maintain this style.

Here is how to get the look:
1. If you are going for a Brianna Perry cut as well, ask your stylist to give you a graduated bob that is just above shoulder length in the front. Then, have him/her add a layered side swept fringe and layers throughout the rest of the hair to create some volume in the upper layers.
2. Now that you have the haircut, ask your hairstylist to give you blonde highlights on the layers underneath your hair for a peek-a-boo effect. Brianna has a mix of blonde and copper which makes a nice transition from light to dark. Ladies with dark hair and a warm complexion will look best in a golden blonde shade, while those with cool skin will do better in ash or wheat blonde tones.
3. Don't forget this important last step- finish it all off with fabulous makeup!

step 1

Squeeze a small amount of straightening balm into your palms and then rub your hands together before smoothing the product evenly through damp hair.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

step 4

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

step 5

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

step 6

When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.

step 7

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 8

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
