Elizabeth Banks Medium Straight Honey Blonde Hairstyle with Light Blonde Highlights

Added: 03 Jun 2015
Layers are jagged cut all through the sides and back then pinched with product to achieve a textured look and feel that is great to balance out a long face. This casual hairstyle is easy to manage with regular trims and needs product to tame fly-away hair.

Elizabeth Banks looks stunning here in a layered, shag ‘do. This hairstyle is ideal for her square face shape that has a strong jaw line and chin area. Elizabeth’s medium-thick hair looks great in this choppy layered ‘do that is full of body and texture. The front layers that end just below the cheekbones create a nice sculpted effect and brings out her bone structure, while the flipped out ends soften up her jaw line nicely.

Color-wise, Elizabeth has gone for a warm buttery blonde base that has been highlighted all over for a sun-kissed look. Elizabeth has a cool skin tone with pink undertones so this brassy shade would be too warm for her without the lighter white blonde highlights. But overall, this is a good look for Elizabeth that brings out her rosy cheeks and blue eyes.

Elizabeth Banks is an American actress, producer, and director who is famous for her role in The Hunger Games, amongst other high profile films.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Starting at the nape/back of the hair, place your brush on top of the section and blow-dryer down starting from the roots and using tension as you go. Next, place the blow-dryer underneath the hair and continue to blow-dry the ends out. Make sure to follow the brush with the blow-dryer in an outwards direction. If you like fuller flicks, hold the ends out and roll them up into the brush and apply the heat for longer.

step 4

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

step 5

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 6

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
