Description

(Added: 6th November 2017 )
These light blonde tresses are blow-waved for added height and volume at the roots while letting the hair's natural wavy texture do its thing through the ends. The top is backcombed then pulled back and pinned at the back of the head which is great way of focusing on the facial features. Product is needed to tame fly-away hair and hold this high volume hairstyle.

Tyra Banks flaunts a Sixties-inspired ‘do here that oozes glamour and sophistication. Tyra has a triangular face shape with a high, broad forehead and narrow chin. This face shape is best suited to styles that cover the forehead and balance out the face proportions, however for eye-catching looks like this one, high volume 'dos can work too. Here, she lets most of her locks down while she pulls the top section back off the face and backcombs it before smoothing it down, creating a bouffant. This, along with Tyra's soft waves at the ends, softens up her look nicely and creates a gorgeous frame for her face. This eye-catching 'do is ideal for a special event where you need to turn heads!

As a former fashion model and TV personality, Tyra has worn almost every hair color and style you can think of. Her medium-dark complexion and green eyes are flattered by black, brunette and blonde locks alike. Here she goes for light golden blonde lengths and ends while the top is a light golden brunette that creates a cool contrast. This gives her retro-inspired hairdo a modern twist while flattering her skin tone and eye color.

Tyra Lynne Banks is an American television personality, producer, businesswoman, actress, author, former model and occasional singer.

Styling Steps

Mousse
1 . Apply Mousse
Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.
Diffusedrywavy
2 . Scrunch Hair Dry with a Diffuser and Fingers
Lift your hair up with your fingers and move the diffuser up to the ends, motioning the diffuser to the scalp in circular movements. Make sure the blow-dryer speed is on low and try not to completely dry the hair off. Leaving a little bit of moisture will allow the hair to dry naturally.
Brushlarge
3 . Use a Large Radial Brush
A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.
Crown
4 . Blow-dry the Crown
To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.
Backtop
5 . Blow-dry the Top Section Back
To blow-dry the top section back you will need to take your brush and firstly make sure that the section is no wider than the diameter of the brush. Next, place your brush on top of your head and under your section. Using your blow-dryer on a medium setting, blow-dry your hair from the roots, slowly lifting your hair up and working your way to the ends. Make sure to keep the blow-dryer in front of the brush at all times. Continue this step until the top section is completely dry.
Tease
6 . Tease Hair
Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.
Halfuphalfdown
7 . Pin the Hair Half Up and Half Down
Take one section of hair from one side and secure it at the back of your head with a pin. Repeat on the other side to form this style.

8 . Scrunch Moulding Cream Through Hair with Fingers
Apply moulding cream to your fingertips and then tilt your head forward and scrunch your hair.
Lacquerfinishing
9 . Apply Lacquer
Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.
