Long Chocolate Hairstyle With Waves And Brown Highlights

Added: 05 Jul 2012
Looking for a trendy hairstyle to complement your face and body? This long wavy chocolate brunette hairstyle is a sexy and flattering style. It's the perfect combination of chocolate and brunette highlights, giving your locks a warm glow that will turn heads.

Our model perfectly flaunts her chocolate brown hair color with brunette highlights, and her soft facial features are perfectly complemented with a minimalistic makeup look. The eyes make a face speak, so we chose plain brown eye shadow for this look. For the hair styling, a combination of medium to long layers is jagged cut through the sides and back to enhance the bounce and volume, making it a great style. This long wavy hairstyle is perfect for women with oval, oblong and diamond-shaped faces. It is also suitable for women with medium to thick density hair, and fine to medium texture hair. The color complements very well with the barely there amount of highlights from the roots to ends, so it will blend in perfectly with the rest of your outfit. The overall look of this style is voluminous and rich while still looking natural. It is a perfect style for those with fine hair looking for a style with width and shape.

This long and wavy chocolate brown hairstyle is perfect for someone who likes to keep their hair on the long side and wants a great style that is flattering. Teasing at the hair's roots will help create body and volume. It can also be maintained in shape with regular trimming after 4 to 6 weeks.

step 1

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

step 2

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your left eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

step 3

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 4

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid length's, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this step until the section is completely dry.

step 5

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

step 6

Take a section of your hair from your ear to your temple that is the same diameter as the brush. Place your brush on top of the hair starting at the roots and pull the hair slowly in a backward direction with your blow-dryer following in front. Be sure the section is dry and then repeat the step on a new section of hair directly behind.

step 7

Take a section of hair no wider than the diameter of the velcro roller and comb it through to ensure there are no knots. Place the roller at the ends of the section of hair, being sure to smooth the ends under, and then twist the roller down the hair shaft to the roots. Continue applying the velcro rollers all the way through the entire hair for a full volume finish throughout the sides. Keep the rollers in your hair for approximately 20 minutes.

step 8

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

step 9

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 10

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 11

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
