Jess Weixler Casual Straight Updo Hairstyle - Light Brunette
Jess Weixler goes for an elegant up-do here that is ideal for a formal night out. Jess has an oval face shape and a wide, high forehead and pointed chin that looks great with most hairdos, especially up-dos like this one. Her medium-fine tresses have been teased to create maximum volume at the crown of the head while the rest of her locks have been pulled to the back. Overall, this hairstyle works well for her face shape and high forehead, and makes the most of her natural hair texture.
Jess is a natural blonde and, thanks to her cool skin tone and blue eyes, should stay in the blonde/copper spectrum of hair color. Here she goes for a light red tone that flatters her complexion and highlights her blue eyes nicely. Subtle blonde highlights have been added throughout for extra dimension and style.
Jessica Weixler is an American actress. She is best known as the lead character Dawn O'Keefe in the comedy-horror film Teeth and the comedy The Big Bad Swim.

1 . Apply Mousse
Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.
2 . Use a Medium Radial Brush
A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.
3 . Use a Blow-dryer and Fingers to Dry Your Hair Off
Using your blow-dryer, dry your hair using your fingers, separating the hair and allowing it to dry at the roots first then the mid lengths and then the ends. Making sure the roots are dry first will ensure that your hairstyle does not fall flat.
5 . Blow-dry the Top Section Back
To blow-dry the top section back you will need to take your brush and firstly make sure that the section is no wider than the diameter of the brush. Next, place your brush on top of your head and under your section. Using your blow-dryer on a medium setting, blow-dry your hair from the roots, slowly lifting your hair up and working your way to the ends. Make sure to keep the blow-dryer in front of the brush at all times. Continue this step until the top section is completely dry.
6 . Tease Hair
Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.
7 . Pin Hair
Once your hairstyle is complete, hold your hair into place and then pin your hair into your desired direction.
8 . Apply Hairspray
To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
