Jackie Cruz Long Straight Hairstyle with Layered Bangs

Added: 31 Jan 2016
These locks are left out to fall over the shoulders showing off the blunt ends for a simple look and feel. The bangs are smoothed down to frame the top of the face and completes the hairstyle magnificently. Product is needed to tame fly-away hair and regular trims will help prevent split ends.

Jackie Cruz is rocking a trendy look here with her wavy bob and eye-skimming fringe. Jackie has a diamond face shape, which is characterized by wide cheekbones and a narrow chin and forehead area. This makes her best suited to blunt bobs and bangs that highlight those fabulous eyes and cheekbones. This hairstyle does just that for her, with a long eye-skimming fringe bringing out her best features. The blunt edges of her cut balance out her rounded chin area nicely and give her fine hair texture the appearance of added thickness. This ‘do would look great worn sleek and straight, but Jackie’s random kinky waves add drama and style for a head-turning look.

Having an olive complexion and dark eyes, Jackie looks best in rich gold, brown and red tones. Here, she is wearing a mix of chestnut and golden brown tones that gives her complexion a fresh glow and highlights her dark eye color. The multidimensional look of this color not only gives her locks a trendy look, but it also gives a thicker, fuller appearance to her mane.

Jackie Cruz is a Dominican–American actress, musician and former model, known for her role as Marisol "Flaca" Gonzales on the Netflix television series Orange Is the New Black.

step 1

Apply a small amount of hair moisturizer to the palm of your hand and distribute it evenly through the mid-lengths and the ends. Moisturizer will help your hair to maintain good condition and protect your strands from heat as you style.

step 2

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

step 4

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

step 5

When blow-drying your bangs forward, clip your hair back leaving only your bangs out. Position your bangs evenly in your brush, taking the hair in a forward direction. Blow-dry from roots to ends, keeping the tension consistent, and evenly distribute heat over the whole section of hair that you are working on. Repeat until the hair is dry. This will stop any frizz that may occur.

step 6

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 7

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
