Mariah Carey Long Curly Light Brunette Hairstyle

Added: 15 Jan 2017
Gorgeous large curls are dressed all through the mid-lengths to ends of these tresses giving this style plenty of bounce and movement. This 'do is easy to re-create with the right tools and needs product to tame fly-away hair. Regular trims every 4-6 weeks will help prevent split ends and keep the hair looking thick and healthy.

Mariah Carey looks lovely here in long curly locks that show off her best assets. This ‘do frames her heart face shape nicely and makes the most of her naturally thick hair texture. Mariah has a high rounded hairline which makes her best suited to a grown-out fringe, as seen here. The center part and voluminous curls help to balance out her broad forehead and jaw line. Layers throughout give this hairstyle movement, and also helps to reduce any heavy or bulky weight in Mariah's thick hair.

Mariah has a warm, medium complexion with gold undertones and dark eyes. This makes her best suited to hair colors on the warm spectrum like the caramel brown shade she is sporting here as her base, as well as the golden tones she has highlighted her locks with throughout the lengths and ends. Not only does this create a stylish look for her, but it also gives her hair a shiny, healthy looking finish that is full of dimension.

Mariah Carey is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. In 1990, she rose to fame with the release of "Vision of Love" from her eponymous debut album.

step 1

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

step 2

A paddle brush is used for detangling the hair and can be used to smooth out straight hair when blow-drying or styling. It is a must have for every household.

step 3

Working in sections starting from the back, place the paddle brush close to the roots and drag it through the strands slowly, taking care not to overheat your hair. Once dry, continue to a new section, completing the back, the sides and then the top section last of all.

step 4

A large hot roller is used to give your hair a larger curl and to add lots of body.

step 5

Take a section of hair no wider than the diameter of the hot roller and comb it through to ensure there are no knots. Place the roller at the ends of the section of hair, being sure to smooth the ends under, and then twist the roller vertically, making sure to roll it backwards, along the hair shaft to the roots and secure it with a pin or clip. Keep the rollers in your hair until they cool.

step 6

Take the entire back section of your hair, and then starting from the crown, take a smaller section of hair no wider than the diameter of the hot roller and comb it through to ensure there are no knots. Place the roller at the ends of the section of hair, being sure to smooth the ends under, and then twist the roller down the hair shaft until it meets your head and then secure it in place with a pin or clip. Repeat this step until you have reached the nape of your neck and the entire back section of your hair is completed. Keep the rollers in your hair until they cool.

step 7

Using a small amount of moulding cream, work it through the mid-lengths and ends in a downward motion. For added texture, pinch the ends as you go sparingly.

step 8

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
