Long Golden Blonde Corkscrew Curls

Added: 26 Nov 2017
Corkscrew curls are dressed through the sides and back of these blonde locks to give the over-all style extra movement and bounce. This funky style is easy to re-create at home with the right tools and needs a little product to tame fly-away hair. Regular trims are needed to prevent split ends.

Our model looks gorgeous here in a head-turning mane. Having a diamond face shape and high rounded hairline, our model's face looks best in ‘dos with a grown out fringe and longer layers around the face to camouflage the extra width in her cheeks. This simple layered cut allows her hair’s natural texture to do its thing, adding body and bounce all over, while extra curls and backcombing ensures this hairstyle has maximum body and bounce. The longer layers soften up the ends and gives her tresses some movement. A center part finishes this ‘do off nicely and works well to let her thick locks fall around her face.

Our model has a peaches and cream complexion with golden undertones and blue eyes. This makes her suited to hair colors that have a yellow or gold base to them, like the honey blonde tone seen here. This sun-kissed blonde shade is ideal for her complexion and it brings out the intensity of her intense blue eye color. It also completes her hair's beachy look and feel nicely. Light blonde highlights are added throughout to complete this look by adding dimension.

step 1

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

step 2

Use your hand to scrunch the hair as you blow-dry. Remember to keep the blow-dryer on a low speed and heat setting and to leave some moisture in your hair.

step 3

A large curling iron is used to create large soft curls and can be used to add body.

step 4

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

step 5

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

step 6

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.

step 7

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
