A long casual curly updo can be described as soft, sexy, loose, carefree and not too overdone. Half of the hair (generally the top or sides) is generally pulled, tied, or pinned back and the back is left out to hang down below the shoulders. Some other variations involve teasing the top for extra height or leaving sides wisps to hang down. Bangs can be swept over or across or just tied back completely. This type of hairstyle can be worn everyday at work, home, to the shops and even to important events and interviews.
Method
These types of half up hairstyles are generally curled, pinned, tied, teased, gelled, waxed, brushed out, and lacquered into place. Styling time varies depending on how much work is done to the hair, meaning it can be as little as 10 minutes for natural curly hair types, or up to 1 hour and 30 minutes if your hair needs to be curled using rollers or heat appliances.
Benefit
The biggest benefit of casual long curly half updos (on natural curly hair) is that they are so quick to create and in most cases don't even require a visit to the salon. These looks are also great for keeping the hair out of the eyes and off the face, and they also hold their shape really well and prevent moisture sending them flat and lifeless. Since they are not too extravagant they allow clothing, jewellery and other elements to enjoy some attention. Just be aware that steam and moisture can make naturally curly hair frizz.
