Short Sleek Mocha Brunette Hairstyle With Height

Added: 07 Oct 2009
The short mocha brunette hairstyle is very flattering for women of all ages. Styled short and straight, this look will frame your face, making it easier to create a more polished and professional appearance. The mocha color adds dimension to the style and natural highlights to your hair.

Our model looks beautiful in this black T-shirt and fair skin, which complement each other nicely. Her thin eyebrows and glossy lips compliment her face perfectly. It is a short funky hairdo with different lengths to add contrast and shape to the style. This style features front layers, worn as long bangs swept to the side. For the hair styling, the back has been cut short and close to the head for a flat finish. The side's layers have been sliced to maintain a wispy look, with the length cut down to angle towards the jaw line while blending up to the shorter textured layers through the top. It is a perfect hairstyle for oval and heart-shaped faces as well as triangular ones. The center part is pulled back away from the face and then laid down smooth in soft layers that gently cut across the top of an oval or heart face shape. The short haircut delivers a voluminous and textured look to frame your face. It is ideal for somebody who wants a little bit of texture, and be ready for any occasion.

This short hairstyle is perfect for a busy lifestyle. It looks amazing on new, unprocessed hair but can be maintained with regular trims after 4 to 6 weeks. Using products with a strong hold will help to keep this style in place.

step 1

Squeeze a small amount of straightening balm into your palms and then rub your hands together before smoothing the product evenly through damp hair.

step 2

A medium radial brush is used on medium to long hair types to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures or to add body to straight hair. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with a pure bristle as this will not tear or damage the hair.

step 3

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

step 4

To blow-dry your bangs to the side, clip the back and side sections up, leaving just your bangs out. Place your brush beneath your bangs, holding your hair to the side and remembering to hold the tension between your hair and brush. With your blow-dryer on a low setting, apply heat by starting at the roots and make sure to stretch your hair out to the ends. Repeat until your hair is dry.

step 5

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

step 6

Apply moulding cream to your palms and then roughly rub the moulding cream into back of your style. For a messier finish use circular hand movements.

step 7

When straightening your hair, first make sure that your hair is completely dry. Then, section your hair off starting from the back/nape using a comb. Straighten your hair starting from the roots and working your way down to the ends using your comb as your guide. Make sure not to leave the straightening iron in one spot for more than 3 seconds. step 8

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.

step 9

Lacquer is great for strong hold. A small amount is all that is required to finish and should be applied from an arms length distance to the entire style.
