Hi! My hair is damaged and I wonder if I'm using way too many products. I try to be careful as much as I can with it. I only dye it every 2 or 3 months and never blow dry or wash it too often... still, my hair is incredibly damaged. Here is a list of the stuff I put on my hair: - Shampoo (of course), I wash my hair every other day and use just a little bit. - I use hair mask once or twice a week, and the other days I use conditioner. - A repairing product for damaged ends. - Another repair product spray for rest of my hair. - A leave in conditioner. In the days that I don't wash it, I put some hair oil in the ends to help control the frizz. Sometimes I wonder if this is way too much stuff to put on my hair and could be one of the causes of so much damage, even though I just apply a tiny bit of each. Thank you for your attention!
Hi, thanks for your question. As you haven't specifically talked in depth about the kind of damage your hair is experiencing (is it dry, frizzy, breaking etc), I can't offer advice about that, but I can let you know that while it's important to use nourishing products regularly, it is also possible to overuse these products and cause damage to your hair. I recommend getting a good detox shampoo and adding that to your routine. It will strip out any residue from the products that you've been using and help your natural hair oils to balance out. I also suggest laying off the hair products when possible and giving your hair a break for a few days every now and then. If you're particularly worried about the damage, seek the advice of a hairdresser in person so that they can look at your actual hair, assess the damage and offer advice about what you can do. I hope I've helped. Kind regards, Serah Schuster - THS Hair Consultant.
