By Jessica on 18 May 2014
We count down the top 5 hairstyles as viewed by you in April 2014!
So far this year, the most viewed hairstyles on TheHairstyler.com have gone from short and sensible in January to flirty and feminine in February. March's most popular 'dos were variations of the wavy bob—a perfect springtime hairdo. So, what was in store for April you may ask? In a word: Blonde! That's right, 7 out of the 10 most viewed hairstyles were various shades of blonde, signifying that we are all definitely looking forward to those lighter days of summer.
Check out the top five hairstyles that were viewed during April:
In at number 5, here is the only brunette of the bunch—Lisa Rinna. This isn't a shocker because regardless if her hair is blonde, brown, red or green, Lisa is always wearing one of the most sought after hairstyles. Here, Lisa is sporting her trademark layered shag 'do with a jagged fringe. This hairstyle is perfect for women who have natural body and a bit of texture in their hair. Oval, oblong, square and diamond shape faces will pull this style off the best. Lisa's color has also been lightened up here, with her usual chocolate brown tresses highlighted with a warm caramel blonde. This is a great technique for brunettes to lighten up for the spring and summer without going completely blonde.
Malin Akerman came in at number four this month with her icy blonde, messy bob. The effortlessly cool bob trend is carrying over from March as we can see here, but Malin's added some extra edge to her 'do with messy layers and some teasing throughout to give it that windblown look. This is a fabulous hairstyle for day or night, and will work particularly well on ladies with fine hair. The face shapes that can pull it off are round, oval, heart, and triangular. Malin's color is also a winner here—her white blonde hair tone is just the right shade for her complexion and there isn't a hint of brassiness to it.
For something a little shorter, our viewers were checking out Judith Godreche's short jagged cut. This hairstyle is a nice option for women who like a short 'do but prefer longer layers and more coverage on the forehead. In particular, this hairstyle will suit round, oval, heart, and triangular face shapes the best, with fine to thick hair. Judith's color is a beachy blonde that is perfect for spring, with a light honey blonde base and champagne highlights.
In at number two is Yolanda H. Foster and her icy blonde layered bob. This simple and chic hairstyle looks amazing with Yolanda's fine hair texture and square face shape. This concave bob with a side swept bang will also look good on ladies with oval, oblong and diamond face shapes too. Yolanda's color is similar to Malin Akerman's icy white blonde, but hers is more uniform without any highlights or low lights for a more dramatic look.
And in the top position for this month, it's Dev and her edgy layered 'do. This is a super chic hairstyle that looks modern and fashion forward, that also has a bit of a rock star vibe to it. This side swept style suits women with oval, oblong, square, and diamond face shapes the best. A naturally straight texture is required to pull this hairstyle off with best results. Our viewers were also loving the color too, with Dev's platinum blonde and violet shades creating a beautiful, futuristic mix!
As you can see, April was all about more edgier styles than previous months, with light icy blonde being the most sought after color. What will our viewers choose as the trendiest hairstyles for the month of May? Check back next month to find out!
