Short Hair Cuts: Celebrity Hair Style Trends
By Kate on 15 April 2010
We take a look at the current short hair cuts being worn by the stars!
One celebrity hair trend we've been seeing a lot of lately is a great new range of short hair cuts, and it's easy to see why!
The new breed of short cuts have been made feminine with long textured strands and given a modern twist by combining undercutting and sharp funky fringes (think the latest haircut from Rihanna) and the result is a versatile and fun look that still retains a womanly charm.
To give you an idea of what we mean, check out these great examples from some of our favorite short haired celebrities.
While Ellen DeGeneres has been sporting short hair for years, her latest look features lots of textures thanks to her jagged cut layers and choppy styling.
As for Halle Berry, she's gone back to the short crop she made famous in the '90s and made it modern with layers and texturized styling.
Although her hair was long when she played Alice in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, the short cut Mia Wasikowska wore while promoting the film garnered plenty of attention for its easy-to-manage versatility and the funky long jagged cut top layers.
For a feminine touch, take a cue from actress Carey Mulligan. Her short crop uses a straight texture and side-swept styling to create a look that's soft, full of plenty of shine and perfect for showing off a solid hair color, such as her great chocolate brown shade.
Last but not least, this very short hair cut from V actress Morena Baccarin is the perfect example of a modern funky short crop because of the closely cut sides and the great texture in the top section courtesy of some well placed hair styling products.
If you're thinking of trying any of these great short hair cuts (or any of the other short hairdos in our range of hairstyles) just remember that the key to this look is clean roots and plenty of hair products to keep fly-away pieces in check.
